Haven’t written in forever!!! I’ve been sooo busy but now I finally have the weekend and I’m just gonna relaxxx :) cinque terre was great! Although the weather wasn’t the best :( saturday was beautiful, got to swim in the mediteranean, which was crystal clear blue with fish swimmin around! Got some great sights and amazingg pictures. Sunday was rainy.. so there wasnt much to do. We mostly just sat around in bars and cafe’s and got drinks and lunch. There was a strike going on with the train system, so at the end of the day we had to sit around for three hours until a bus finally got us. Not so much fun lol and this week flew! Had a great cooking class on wednesday. We didnt cook but got to try many different balsamic vinegars, one of them being 25 years old. Then we got to see how gelato is made! It was absolutely wonderful. It’s crazy that it’s the end of september already. Time really is flying by.
i’m gonna get a new computer cause its even worse than it is before. It’s just a hassle cause my family is gonna have to order it and jon’s gonna have to ups it to me. So complicated. Had a lot of fun this weekend so far! Last night me and my roommates went out with the girls that me and karli chilled with in Rome, so there were about 13 of us. And then we all kinda split up and went to different bars. It was a lot of fun! Then today we went to apiritivo! which is a place where you buy drinks and they have all little picky food for free. Best of all? CINQUE TERRE TOMORROWWWW. I’m absolutely pumped.
Yesterday was the one of the more stressed days here. I wasn’t feeling good and my lap top is being sooo annoying here. The charger has barely worked since I’ve gotten here so my mom is sending me a new one and now my screen is basically severing from the keyboard. I don’t know what to do because the language barrier here makes me discouraged that I could get it fixed. I’m tempted to just a buy a new one.. but for the mean time I’m gonna make due with sticking something behind it so that the screen will actually stay up lol but on the bright side! Got free champagne yesterday! Me and my roommate went to the liquor store and bought some things and the guy asked us if we were students and said since we were we could get a free bottle! It’s weird like being here, half the time I feel like the Italians hate us and the other half of the time I feel like I keep getting free stuff just because I’m a student here. I don’t hate it. Today was better, just had cooking this morning and now I’m hanging out waiting for my next class to start.
Mondayyyy. Today I had class, went fine, and then mailed out a letter to my friend Joelle along with a letter to Jon and his birthday gift :) now I’m just chillin with my roommates! Last night was fun, we had a completely free meal at dante’s and then me, Karli and Steph walked around and took pics since it was sooo nice out. Loved it!
got to sleep in today! Me and the roommates were thinking of doing Pisa today but after yesterday we wanted a day to just relax. Last night was great also! We went to this place called Dante’s and got free wine since we were students AND he said we could have a free dinner tonight! So we’re going back around 8 30! Today I’m just gonna do homework, write letters, and skype with family members :)
amazinggg. We took a train to Viareggio beach. It was about an hour and a half train ride which is longer than I thought but it was totallyyyy worth it. We layed out, swam, got drinks, and some lunch. It was soo relaxing but also pretty shocking cause theyre were some topless women and bottomless little boys! haha it’s the culture though i guess.
i’ve had quite a day. For my Writing for the Arts class, our teacher told us she wanted us to visit a gallery. She gave us very general directions and when me and two other girls from class got on two different busses and searched for 2 hours, we couldn’t find it. It was just extremely frustrating but we’re going to viareggio beach tomorrow and i cant wait to just relax.
I have the craziest shit on my skin! We were thinking they were just nuts mosquito bites but whenever i show people they freak out and we got the thought in our heads that maybe they were bed bugs! I went to the pharmacy and the guy immediately said it was mosquito bites, but when i told him they were all over he seemed to think it was an allergic reaction. He gave me pills to take. sheesh. But on a less gross note, I learned how to make homemade pasta today in my cooking class!! it was absolutely delicious and will without a doubt be my favorite class.
I haven’t written in a few days! Sunday we did exactly what I said we would, nothing :) it was so nice. Later on that evening we got gelato and just hung out. Monday was the first day of classes. I woke up feeling kinda shitty. My class was Italian and I had it at 1:30. It was great! I’ve taken a year of Italian so I maybe should’ve picked a higher level than beginner but thats ok :) my teacher is really nice and at the end of class she took us to buy our books. After that me and lindsey went to get her gluten free pizza and karli met us. Then i started feeling worseee and exhausted from that cold so I went to sleep really early. Today I had literature at 9 am! That was good cause there were more english majors than i thought there’d be. Then i FINALLY GOT LETTERSSSS from Jon!!! It was great cause i was looking forward to them foreverrrr. happy girl :)
Today we woke up early and and climbed to a spot where you could see all of the city. It was amazing! Then I came back to the apartment and nappedddd. It was amzing and I needed it. Then at 4:45 we met at the duomo and a tour guide took us around the city. Then me, and my roommates Danielle, Karli and Stephanie went out! It was amazing and we went to a few diff bars. Tomorrow we finallyyyy get to sleep in tomorrow and do NOTHING. I’m so excited.
